The University of New Brunswick Cancels Its Upcoming In-Person Convocation Ceremonies Amid Recent Surge of COVID-19 Cases
The University of New Brunswick is cancelling its upcoming in-person convocation ceremonies amid a surge of COVID-19 cases.
The ceremonies were originally scheduled for Thursday, October 14th in Fredericton and Friday, October 15th in Saint John.
Officials say the current circumstances across New Brunswick make holding an in-person graduation “challenging.”
Health officials reported 71 new cases of the disease and 1 death on Wednesday, October 6th.
The province is currently dealing with 775 active cases of COVID-19 (as of Wednesday, October 6th). This time last year in 2020, the province only had 22 active cases.
