Several School Bus Routes Across New Brunswick Were Cancelled on Monday, November 22nd Due to Staff Shortage, According to a Spokesman for the Education Department
A spokesman for the Education Department says several school bus routes across New Brunswick were cancelled on Monday, November 22nd due to a shortage of staff.
Flavio Nienow says cancellations were the result of a number of reasons, including the government’s new COVID-19 vaccination policy requirements, isolation requirements, or illness.
As of Friday, November 19th, almost 2,000 government employees without two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine were placed on unpaid leave. Nienow says since August 2021, the department has held 11 driver training courses for more than 100 trainees and will continue to host more through the year.
