Greyhound Canada Cutting All Routes and Ending Operations Permanently
Greyhound Canada is permanently cancelling all its remaining intercity bus
routes in Canada as of midnight.
The carrier is ceasing operations in Ontario and Quebec, a year after
temporarily suspending service when passenger traffic dropped 95 per cent due
to the pandemic.
The company says it’s been a lifeline for many Canadians for more than 90
years, and the decision to shut down will have a massive impact.
It laid off 260 employees when it suspended all operations in Western Canada
in 2018, and says another 45 will lose their jobs as a result of its
permanent closure. (The Canadian Press)
