100,000 Trade Jobs Will Be Needed in the Next Decade, According to Skills Canada New Brunswick’s Executive Director
Despite a booming industry, New Brunswick is seeing a lack of trade workers.
Construction jobs have skyrocketed in the province amid COVID-19, but some contractors and renovators are having to turn down work due to a lack of workers.
Skills Canada New Brunswick’s Executive Director, Courtney Donovan, tells Global News – 100,000 trade jobs will be needed in New Brunswick over the next decade, but there likely won’t be enough workers to fill those positions given the current labor shortage.
Skills Canada New Brunswick is working with the province to develop training incentives to encourage more people to enter the trades, details have yet to be announced.
